Calvados Pays d'Auge 'Tres Pommes' Christian Drouin

The Calvados "Tres Pommes" Christian Drouin shows the love for nature and for the quality of the products of the distillery founder, Christian Drouin. The apple trees, from which the delicate and valuable fruits are caught, are high trunk plants, so that they give a deeply intense aroma to the cider made from them, in contrast to what would occur with the cheapest short trunk apple trees. The Calvados "Tres Pommes" has always been distinguished because of its rich and complex character, winning gold medals and taking first prize in competitions. The spirit is made with thirty quality of apples, whose personalities are grouped in three categories: Doux, Amer Doux and Acide Amer. Each of them brings strengths and colors to be enjoyed... Doux offers alcoholic grade thanks to its sugar, Amer Doux gives “the body” through the tannins and the Amer Acidic crowns the Calvados with a bouquet of aromas. The distillate follows a brief fermentation to be savored in its deep amber colored freshness.
